Quark Expeditions Expands Antarctic Adventure with New Partnership

Quark Expeditions, a leading name in polar adventures, is taking a bold step forward by chartering the Atlas Ocean Voyages’ vessel, the World Voyager, for an exciting three-season voyage in Antarctica starting in November 2026. This strategic partnership signifies not only a continuation of Quark’s commitment to providing immersive travel experiences but also reflects a broader trend in the travel industry toward collaboration in pursuit of unique adventures.

The Dual Life of the World Voyager

The World Voyager, a luxurious all-suite and all-balcony ship, will not only serve the exhilarating landscapes of Antarctica but will also return to Atlas Ocean Voyages at the conclusion of each 4.5-month season. During its intermissions, it will journey through the captivating Northern European and Arctic regions. This dual life of the vessel promises diversification in its offerings while ensuring that guests can enjoy varied experiences throughout the year.

Quark’s plans for the World Voyager extend beyond traditional tourism; they include an ambitious science and discovery program aimed at enhancing marine conservation. The expedition will involve systematic collection of environmental data, seabird surveys, whale sighting documentation, and even underwater soundscapes to monitor marine life. By retrofitting the Voyager with a dedicated science and discovery hub, Quark not only elevates the expedition experience for guests but also fosters a new wave of citizen science. This approach allows guests to actively participate in scientific research, thereby merging travel with environmental stewardship.

Voyager Marks a Transition

The addition of the World Voyager also marks a notable transition for Quark. The company currently charters another Atlas ship, the World Explorer, which is set to undergo significant renovations after the conclusion of the 2025-26 season in preparation for its transfer to Windstar at the end of 2026. The World Voyager is poised to fill the gap left by the Explorer, thus maintaining Quark’s strong presence in the Antarctic region without interruption in service.

Unique Experiences on the Horizon

Passengers booking voyages on the World Explorer during its final season with Quark will have the unique opportunity to engage in enhanced camping experiences, allowing twice the number of guests to enjoy a night beneath the awe-inspiring Antarctic sky. Additionally, Quark is introducing an exceptional helicopter expedition aboard the Quark Ultramarine in February 2027, which will include flights that cross the Antarctic Circle, offering breathtaking aerial views and one heli-landing beyond this remarkable frontier.

To further entice adventurers, Quark Expeditions is providing early booking incentives of up to 15% off, along with an exclusive early booking bonus that extends until May 31, 2025. This move aims to not only reward early adopters but also to ensure that those eager to witness the stark beauty of Antarctica can secure their place in one of the most significant voyages of the decade.

Quark Expeditions is not just promoting travel; it’s championing scientific exploration and environmental consciousness, setting the stage for a new era in polar adventures.
