Newark Liberty International Airport has earned a notorious reputation as one of the most troubled gateways in the United States. Planning a family trip to Orlando quickly turned into an exercise in logistical gymnastics. As we peacefully exited the plane around 6:30 p.m. and made our way to Terminal A, I was struck by the empty concourse; it felt surreal.
